Beyond Carpet Cleaning: Lone Star Carpet Care is San Antonio's Tile and Grout Cleaning Expert

Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration isn't only San Antonio’s carpet cleaning and carpet repair experts…we are also San Antonio’s tile and grout cleaning experts. In fact, Lone Star Carpet Care was recently contracted to clean and sanitize tile in all the patient hospital bathrooms at one of San Antonio’s largest private hospital chains.  Just like this hospital, many homeowners experience dark, dull, or discolored tile and grout in their own homes.

Tile and grout is notoriously difficult to clean.  Even with regular mopping, tile and grout can look “dirty.”    Over time, dirt settles deep into the tile surface, into pores, and grout lines.  Unfortunately, mopping, even in combination with over-the-counter tile/grout cleaning products, falls short of achieving the “clean” appearance of your grout and tile.  This is because mopping and consumer products aren't made to penetrate the ground-in dirt trapped, mildew, and germs deep within the tile surface or access hard-to-reach crevices.  This is where the professionals at Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration come in.  Equipped with our high-pressure truck-mounted cleaning systems, Lone Star Carpet Care not only cleans, but sanitizes your tile and grout, restoring your tile to its original brilliance and color.  To maximize results, Lone Star Carpet Care recommends our acid wash treatment which is designed to restore even the dirtiest tile and grout to a brand new appearance.

After your tile is cleaned and sanitized, Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration can apply our special sealant to block out stains, mold and mildew.  Unsealed grout coupled with a moist environment (especially bathrooms) provide the ideal breeding ground for mold and mildew.  Sealed tile and grout will repel mold, mildew, and stains for up to two years.  Not only will your home be healthier, but clean-up will be a breeze.

Don’t let your dirty tile and grout comprise your health or distract from the beauty of your home.  When you need reliable tile and grout cleaning you can trust, call the tile and grout cleaning professional at Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration.  Just think of how crucial the cleanliness of a hospital is, and Lone Star was entrusted to clean and sanitize the most imperative of hospital spaces: the patients’ bathrooms; we’ll do the same for you and your family.  Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration will give you the peace of mind of a quality tile and grout clean done right, honestly and at an affordable price.  Call the tile and grout experts at Lone Star Carpet Care today: (210) 609-9061 or visit us at: lonestarcarpetcare.com.

DIY Carpet Cleaning

Over the last several years, we have seen more and more homeowners attempt “do-it-your-self” carpet cleaning.  Whether they've rented the popular model from their hardware store or supermarket or invested in their own consumer-grade steam cleaning unit, homeowners are giving at-home carpet cleaning a try and the results are great…at first.  After a while, however, most people see their trouble spots/stains magically reappear and end up calling a professional carpet cleaning company, like Lone Star Care: San Antonio's premier carpet cleaning company, to help.

Most consumer carpet cleaning machines call for the cleaning solution to be inserted directly into the machine.  Unfortunately, adding the solution to the machine deposits the soap directly into the carpet and it stays and actually causes the carpet to separate from its backing (delamination).  Furthermore, whenever someone walks over the area, the dirt and soil is attracted (and actually sticks to) the soapy residue, resulting in an ugly dark spot to appear on your carpet.  Not only is the unsightly soapy dark spot troublesome to the homeowner, but to your carpet professional as well.

Soap suds can cause major problems for the intricate mechanism in a professional truck-mounted carpet cleaning machine.  The steam activates the soap within the waste tank and begins to sud and the suds can get into bearings and rust the machine from the inside out.  To prevent expensive damage to our truckmounts, the homeowner must alert the carpet cleaning technician, so a special chemical can be added to the machine to counteract the soap.  Once preventative measures have been take, professional carpet steam cleaning can successfully remove the soap, and stain.  If the carpet has been seriously delaminated, we can employ carpet repair techniques, such as patching the carpet in that area, to completely replace the damaged carpet (see our blog on carpet repairs).

To prevent damage to your carpet and additional stains, we recommend placing the carpet cleaning solution in a spray bottle and spraying directly onto the stain, then treat the area with your carpet cleaner.  This process allows the soap/shampoo to be extracted with the dirt and soil.  Or you can call the carpet cleaning professionals at Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration and we’ll take care of it for you: you won’t have to lift a finger (except for dialing the phone) and rest assured that it will be done right the first time.  Lone Star Carpet Care is San Antonio's choice for carpet cleaning and repairs.

Carpet Cleaning Rx: It's doctor recommended!

Do you know what’s lurking in your carpet? Most people think of having their carpets professionally steam cleaned only when they can see dirt, spots, or stains.  However, doctors prescribe regular professional carpet cleaning service as an important part of maintaining the health of your family. Physicians recommend regular professional carpet cleaning, specifically the hot water extraction type of cleaning offered by Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration, for the removal of allergens and the alleviation of allergy and asthma symptoms including: coughing, wheezing, chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, and other allergic reactions like rashes or dermatitis.

Dust is carried by the air, but that dust eventually settles on surfaces throughout your home and begins to build up on your carpet and furniture…even when you can’t see it.  Dust consists of allergens like dust mites, pet dander, pollen, or mold spores which can trigger any number of allergy symptoms, from a stuffy nose to asthma and even rashes.  The larger the allergen particle, the quicker it is to settle.  Pollen, dust mites, and cockroach debris are the largest allergen particles and settle first and get trapped in your carpet’s fibers.  Unfortunately, dusting and regular vacuuming aren’t enough to rid your home of dust and allergens.  In fact, dusting and vacuuming can actually stir up dust and make allergy symptoms worse.  That’s why doctors recommend regular professional steam cleaning your carpet.  The hot water extraction steam carpet cleaning process used by Lone Star Carpet Care, not only washes your carpet (ridding it dust and dander), but the heat of the steam actually kills dust mites and bacteria.

In addition to targeting carpeted areas for allergens, Lone Star Carpet Care is also able to treat other areas like mattresses, sofas, and draperies.   Lone Star Carpet Care is also available to clean your air ducts, removing dust and allergens from the source: annihilating airborne dust and allergens before they settle on your carpet and other surfaces around your home.

Make your house a healthier environment by ridding your carpet and surface areas of dust allergens.  Call the carpet cleaning experts at Lone Star Carpet Care San Antonio today at: (210) 427-4276.  Lone Star Carpet Care has been San Antonio’s choice for carpet cleaning since 1995.

Carpet Repair

Your carpet is one of the biggest investments inside your home, so when the inevitable happens to your carpet, remember that you don’t always have to replace your carpet: we can repair it!  Carpet repair is a skill that not all companies and technicians perform, but rest assured that the skilled technicians at Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration, San Antonio, are the carpet repair experts. Carpet repair is a viable option for large stains, rips, tears, holes, bleached, or wrinkled carpet.

For ripped carpet, large stains, or holes in your carpet, our expertly trained carpet techs can employ patching techniques.  Carpet patching involves taking an undamaged piece of carpet, either from a remnant you may already have left from your original installation, or from an unnoticeable area, such as the back of a closet.  The damaged carpet is cut away and the new carpet is patched into its place leaving the area looking brand new.  Many customers ask if they can purchase a new portion of carpet instead of removing a portion of their existing carpet.  Unfortunately, the answer is “no.”  Since dye lots vary from roll to roll, the newly purchased carpet will undoubtedly have a different coloring than your existing carpet – even if they are the same “color” by the same manufacturer.  The best option for seamlessly new looking carpet is using an existing piece from your home.

Overtime, carpet stretches causing noticeable wrinkles, lumps, and bumps which can be resolved by carpet re-stretching.  Wrinkled carpet is not only unsightly, but can be a dangerous safety hazard.  Carpet re-stretching is an art-form performed by one of Lone Star Carpet Care’s expert carpet technicians, who employ special tools to smooth out those bumps, bulges, and wrinkles to restore a brand-new appearance to your loose carpet.  The carpet re-stretching repair process can also be used to fix loose or frayed carpet seams.

Carpet can often become discolored, lightened, or stained, long before the carpet wears out.  Discoloration can be caused by any number of causes, ranging from sunlight, bleach, and frequently from the misuse of carpet over-the-counter carpet “stain removal” products.  Carpet dyeing can restore the color and vibrancy of your carpet.   At Lone Star Carpet Care in San Antonio, our specially trained technician can dye just one portion of your carpet to cover stains or spots and seamlessly match the rest of your carpet or dye the whole room restoring its former color and brilliance.

Regardless of your individual carpet repair dilemma, rest assured that the carpet cleaning and carpet repair experts at Lone Star Carpet Care San Antonio have the solution.  From carpet patches, to carpet re-stretching, to carpet dyeing: we’ve got you covered!  Family owned and operated since 1995, trust your family to our family and call us today: (210) 427-4276.
